What: The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity: Grand Finale fundraiser,

Start 2024 off on a positive note by supporting a worthwhile cause at the 32nd annual Grand Finale fundraiser, hosted by The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. What: Prague Easter Market at Náměstí Míru (Peace Square)
Where: Prague, Czechia
When: 15 March to 1 April
This is a great time to visit the Czech Republic’s capital (which is also home to the largest castle complex in the world!). Every year, thousands flock to Prague’s parade of Easter markets to sample traditional cuisine and buy from local businesses. The closest market to Safestay’s Prague Charles Bridge location — which has a private courtyard, a games room and a rooftop terrace — is at Náměstí Míru (Peace Square). What: Olympic flame lighting
Where: Athens, Greece
When: 16 April
Immerse yourself in the pomp and circumstance of the Olympic flame lighting ceremony at the first leg of the torch relay, held at Ancient Olympia. The historic event will be televised worldwide, as a group of ‘priestesses’ light the fire that will burn until the games conclude on 11 August. The ceremony is free to attend, and all ages are welcome. What: The Santo Antonio Festival

The Santo Antonio Festival is the most important annual event in Lisbon. This proud and vibrant celebration is held in remembrance of Saint Antony, the capital’s patron saint, and reaches its peak on the evening of 12 June. Every year the decorated streets welcome swathes of visitors from near and far selling local food and lots of sardines, which are a staple in Portuguese culture. The La Mercè Festival dates back to 1902 and celebrates the Patron Saint of Barcelona, Mare de Deu de la Mercè. Now the largest street party in the city, visitors can expect an electrifying experience as they peruse the buzzing streets, enjoy the passing parades and processions, and light sparklers for the famous Correfoc (fire run). What: Marc Chagall Exhibition

Visit the Albertina Museum’s must-see Chagall exhibition which features around 90 works created by the prolific artist.
