Sustainable swimwear designer Mimie Reed has pulled together her best-selling items to create a holiday capsule collection for summer 2021.
Mimie pairs her best-selling full piece, the Grace Belted Swimsuit, which comes in black or white, along with the Norma Contrast Kaftan and her Cateye sunglasses with pearl chain, to create the three piece collection. Mimie Reed’s 2021 Holiday Capsule is available for €616 when purchased together using the code MRsummer21 at checkout, representing a 20% discount if buying the items separately.
Founded in 2020 by Swedish-born, Malta-based, London-influenced designer Mimie Reed, the eponymous swim and resort wear brand puts ethical and sustainable fashion right at its heart. Each Mimie Reed swimsuit is created from regenerated nylon from ocean waste such as discarded fishing nets. The kaftans are made from mainly recycled polyester and the sunglasses are crafted in small batches in Italy out of bio-acetate, a natural renewable and biodegradable alternative to plastic. Hats and Turbans, which are also available from Mimie Reed, are handmade and recyclable respectively, and 3% of all purchases made are donated directly to the Olive Ridley Project which protects sea turtles and their habitats in the Indian Ocean.
Mimie Reed’s vintage-influenced designs are inspired by stars of the golden era of screen and stage. They incorporate feminine tailoring of the 1940’s, elegant designs of the 1930’s, and strong silhouettes of the 1950’s. Mimie Reed champions inclusivity and diversity and her swimsuits are designed to flatter the female form in all shapes and sizes. The power is in the detail. Swimsuits feature molded cups for maximum support and are double-lined to provide quality and hold without sacrificing on comfort.
Prices for swimsuits start from €220 including international shipping. Sizes run from 34 to 42 and bra sizes from B to E. Mimie Reed’s designs are packaged plastic-free in recycled boxes and paper. Straw hats come in beautiful keepsake vintage-style hat boxes that can hold up to five large brim hats.
